Join us during SF Beer Week for The Family Tree 2
In brewing, as with many things, the students, with quality training and skill, become masters in their craft. Because of this, there is often a sort of "family tree" where many brewers are trained under one great brewer creating branches, and then sometimes they grow branches of their own. Last year we celebrated Pizza Port, and this year will be Marin Brewing Company Arne Johnson. The brewery list from Arne's tree is James Costa of Half Moon Bay Brewing Company, Tim Scacia of Cellarmaker Brewing Company, Mike Makris of Temescal Brewing, Shane Aldrich of Oakland United Beerworks, and Kim Sturdavant (creator of the "Brut IPA") of Woods Brewing.
