WELCOME SCAVENGERS

Each individual/team/family will be given a list of items, challenges, or riddles (“clues”) that must be found in the Rockridge District during the allotted time. The goal is to find as many items as possible because each correct discovery counts as one raffle entry into a drawing for 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize. All ages can compete; some clues are easier than others. 

 

THE GAME

HUNT LOCATIONS 

The scavenger hunt is hosted by the business community of the Rockridge District. Therefore, the clues can all be found inside or around businesses that serve the public (ie. retail shops, restaurants, bars, gyms, cafés, churches, libraries, etc.). There are no clues to be found at private residential property, psychotherapy/medical offices, schools, rooftops, dark scary alleys, or places that would be inappropriate or unsafe. No clues are living, breathing people. 

All clues are found along College Avenue between Broadway and Alcatraz Avenue. Side streets and backside of businesses including parking lots are not used for clues. We endeavored to make all clues accessible — all clues are on the ground floor or can be seen from street level. Some clues can be found online while others can only be found in person.

HUNT RULES & INFORMATION

  1. To start the hunt, email marketing@rockridgedistrict.com with your full name and the full names of your teammates, if applicable. Your teammates should do the same, as well. Each person should use this email address throughout the day which is how we will track your entries. 

  2. Teams/Families are welcome, but you can not split up! You will need to share any prize winnings with your team and are only eligible for one prize. Like any game of this nature, it’s really meant to be fun, and we trust that you’ll abide by the game rules and respect the businesses that you enter for the game.

  3. Clues you find must be emailed to marketing@rockridgedistrict.com.You can email them to us one at a time, in batches, or all together at the end. Just remember, we’ll only accept entries during game time (between 11am - 7pm). You will be sending the clue number you solved as well as text (answer to a riddle, address, etc.) and/or photos, so be mindful of the size of your email (which is why we recommend sending them one at a time or in small batches). The order in which you find the clues doesn’t matter.

  4. Some clues have multiple correct answers — that’s okay — any one correct answer works.

  5. Business owners do not know the answers to the clues, so please don’t ask them for help. They do welcome you to the district and will cheer you on as you compete!

  6. Clues are to be viewed or photographed, not collected. Do not take or in any way alter the clues you find during the Hunt. You will need a digital camera or camera phone for many of clues.

  7. No purchases are necessary to compete in the game.

  8. Disqualification occurs if an individual or team cheats, creates a disturbance/nuisance, trespasses on private property, or takes/alters any clues during the game.

  9. The Game Card will be emailed to you at exactly 11am on the day of the hunt. If for some reason you do not get the clues at that day/time, contact marketing@rockridgedistrict.com immediately.

*Winners will be notified via email by September 17. Prizes will be available or mailed after we verify your mailing address.
