EVENT INFORMATION

The Rockridge District Association (RDA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, provides district services in Rockridge, Oakland. Beginning in April 2023, we are re-launching an ongoing Second Saturdays series called Rock-N-Stroll. This series was successful in 2021 during a three-month pilot run then returned from April - December in 2022. You can learn more here.

The purpose of Rock-N-Stroll is to support Rockridge merchants, restaurants, and service providers located on College Avenue between Broadway and the Berkeley border (Cole Coffee/Safeway). The majority of the live music will be outdoors, but some indoor locations will be available (covid restrictions permitting). Rockridge BART Plaza is at the heart of the event, offering an excellent setting for bands that draw larger audiences. This is not a festival; this is not a street fair. The style of Rock-N-Stroll is a concentration of “street performers” — who are typically drawing small crowds and entertaining passerbys — while shops promote sales, restaurants offer special menus, and so on. College Avenue remains open to street traffic during the event.

The RDA will be promoting the event through advertising, media outreach, social media, and by strategic marketing partnerships such as Visit Oakland, BART, and various community groups. We are inviting the residents of Rockridge, our broader community in Oakland, and our neighbors throughout the Bay Area to come enjoy a day of music, entertainment, sales, pop-up vendors, kids’ activities, adult games, and more.

CALLING MUSICIANS

We would like to build upon our directory of local bands that are interested in performing at Rock-N-Stroll. If this event is of interest to you, please fill out the form below. Submitting your information does not imply a contract to perform, but it will give us the details we need to try and include your band when an appropriate opportunity arises.

Note: Given the “street performance” nature of the event, bands with their own portable power supply or that can successfully perform without amplification may have a better change of being selected due to space constraints, sound permitting issues, etc. In the form below, be sure to let us know if you have that flexibility.

Thank you for considering participation, and for helping us to foster community and culture while helping the local economy here in Oakland, CA. — Rockridge District Association

If you have more than one band, please complete a separate form for each.
