Our showroom is constantly changing. With every season, colors and styles change, so we must change too. We try to diversify our showroom to fit the tastes and needs for all our clients… but keep in mind that what’s on our showroom floor is just the beginning of what we can do!
Husband-and-wife designers Laleh and Alessandro Latini founded SOBU, named after their kids Sofia and Bruno, with the dream of designing modern, heirloom-quality furniture and accessories with personality and warmth. With a willingness to take risks and imbue a sense of humor in their designs, this Oakland-based furniture and design company offers a welcome alternative to the mass produced home products prevalent in the marketplace. Unique designs to be cherished, well-used and passed down with pride.
Our Claremont Rug Company gallery houses three showrooms for viewing our world-class inventory of exclusively art-level Persian carpets and tribal rugs, circa 1800-1910. Included are sizes from 2 x 4ft to 18 x 30ft, along with antique runners and corridor rugs to 25ft long. Headed by our company founder and president, Jan David Winitz, our carpet consultants offer from 15 to over 30 years of experience working at Claremont. They are uniquely qualified to orient you and assist you to identify the particular decorative or collectible rugs that are ideal for your interests and needs.
Maison d'Etre playfully suggests the store’s reason for being, to celebrate life at home. Owners Patty Brunn and Fred Womack, artists, florists, ardent cooks, parents and pet owners have created a unique environment focusing on all things home.
Patty and Fred believe firmly that aesthetic considerations are of ultimate importance, and that beauty is a necessity for well-being. Their store is known for its selectivity and style, offering appealing objects alive with heart, history and integrity.
A long-standing love affair with design has been the driving force behind many of Nathan’s creative and career exploits. As a boy, it was not uncommon for Nathan to spend hours dreaming of someday owning his own “perfect little store.” Even when his mother sent him about his household chores, Nathan would imagine himself in his very own retail utopia, sweeping or dusting or straightening things. The store of his imagination was beautiful and innovative. It was a place where the shopping experience was just as lovely as the loot you left with, where your name was remembered and the gift-wrapping was always free. It was decidedly modern and chic but never highfalutin’, and forever fun.
